About Theodora

Theodora Brennan-Voss founded What’s The Best Report in August 2025 after eleven years inside the consumer-tech press. The pitch was deliberately narrow. She wanted a publication that would commit to a single answer per question, defend that answer in plain prose, and never let the answer be moved by an affiliate spreadsheet. The single-winner format is hers; the editorial discipline that says “if we can’t pick one, the article isn’t done” is also hers.

She came up at Tom’s Guide, spent four years as a senior editor at Engadget, and freelanced for The Verge between staff jobs. She watched the consumer-tech category mature into serious testing for hardware (cameras, displays, kitchen gear) while subscription apps and consumer services remained dominated by listicle blogs that re-shuffled rankings with the commission rate. She built What’s The Best Report to fix that one rhetorical move: instead of “the 17 best ___ apps,” one answer with a defense.

Credentials in detail

Editorial focus

Theodora signs off on every verdict published on What’s The Best Report. She owns the methodology document, the editorial policy, and the corrections process. She personally writes the harder-to-pick categories — finance, AI tools, anything where the runner-up is genuinely close to the winner — and edits everything else.

Conflicts of interest

Theodora maintains no affiliate accounts. Her income is derived solely from this publication. She has accepted no payment from any company whose product is named on this site, and she has no equity, board, or consulting relationships with any of them.
